West Lothian Angling Association (WLAA) is responsible for all fishing on the 8 miles of River Almond from Kirkton Weir downstream to Clifton Hall School (M8 motorway), including Almondell and Calderwood Country Park. The fishing maintained by WLAA between these points is known as 'the waters' and includes any accessible fishing from either bank of the River Almond. A permit is required and the river regularly patrolled.
