The bridge was situated 200m north west of Bransford Spinney. During the latter part of 1961, the A5 over Bransford Bridge was widened, necessitating the demolition of the old bridge: the work was apparently watched with keen interest due to a reference in Bloxam which reckoned on there being an Anglo Saxon cemetery in the area. In the event, it appears, nothing of great interest was uncovered, although the only references to the site are a number of letters and some finds in Warwick Museum comprising iron nail, leather upper shoe, iron vessel and fragment of timber.
